This game reminds me of the Wizard of Oz... or more like Wicked, cuz i play the part of Keats. XD
Like... Ellen ( Dorothy? Or Galinda?) is taken to the Fairy Realm (Yellow brick Road ya'll!) and meets a scarecrow (lol) and then the Fairy lord (OZ!) is using her... If you've ever read Wicked, you'd know Galinda was being used by the Wizard do do his bidding... much like Ellen is being used by the Fairy Lord. And i think Keats is like the Wicked Witch. Misunderstood, but still a good guy sorta... @_@
I'm only at chapter 4. Bear with me!
So what do you think? Make any sense...?

Makes lot of sense... though after beating you'll probably replace the roles XD... I think Keats is rather more a bit like Tinman... sort of... mhm.... or Toto XDD.... Ah... but I must say... backgrounds and stuff (I tell you they were on drugs when they created that O.O.)... are sort of like Oz.... Though... what do you think about Alice in Wonderland (or through the looking-glass) references?... Scarecrow is pretty much a good Cheshire Cat and Belgae makes a nice Caterpillar ^^... *sweatdrop*
But back to OZ in Ellen's case I wouldn't say there are a lot of places better than home ... I mean... isn't home the place where like... 6 people where murdered because of her?... Oh MY! O.o

Know what i mean?

I um never could get through watching all of the Wizzard of Oz. Looking at the envirements though I'm sure the designers took elements from fairy tale stories.
Wasn't there a field of flowers in the Wizard of Oz? That's what the flowery part of the Faery realm reminds me of.
The Endless Corridor reminded me of Alice in Wonderland only a more rustic version.

Sorry for gravedigging, but I wanted to put in my two cents -
When I played the demo for this game, I got wicked "American McGee's Alice" vibes from it. It's like the macabre version of Alice's Wonderland.
But now that you guys mention it, it reminds me a little of the Wizard of Oz as well. There's a scene from the trailer where Ellen is standing with a bunch of really short human-ish people... Munchkins?
