So, last night I beat the game. The ending was fabulous, albeit very confusing, and I was very proud of myself for thinking, back when I first guessed that Ellen = Cecelia, that "haha, it'd be hilarious if Keats is actually Herve, haha" and... well, what do you know? XD;
After having mulled it over I am still quite confused about certain things, so maybe you veterans of the game could help a girl out...
Nuuuuuuumber 1: Presuming that Keats is some kind of human-looking halflife (which is what most people's comments on the youtube clip of the ending seem to think), how come he can walk about during the day, and only that one girl, Fiona, from one of the downloadable quests seems to have a difficult time seeing him? Because I can't remember any of the other halflives being out in the real world during the daytime, which led me to believe that they can't do so... And Wilde could see Frizzie, so I'm not really sure what kind of rules they're dictated by in terms of who can see them and who can't.
Nuuuuuuumber 2: If Keats is a creation of Ellen's based on what she remembers of Herve/thought he would be like as an adult, why are their personalities so vastly different? For example, Herve was an incredibly selfless kid, and yet Keats has a tendency to lean on the selfish side (as far as his manner of speaking goes; his actions indicate differently).
And finally,
Nuuuuuuumber 3: In the Tangled Corridors download quest, Belgae says that it was his "counterpart's" responsibility to wind the clock in the Endless Corridor, but that said "counterpart" just happened to be away at the time. Who is this "counterpart" he's referring to? I feel like I missed something.
And as a final, unrelated comment... I spent most of the game laughing to myself over the fact that Keats, Belgae, and Livane look like they're trying to start some kind of blue-trenchcoat club. ^^;
[ETA] I lied. I came up with a number 4: If Keats' office at the end is part of the Netherworld, then how come Ellen visits him without the Cloak of Sidhe on?
