I mean, honestly. I can play through Ellen's part easily. In a few hours, i got through it up to chapter 3. But as i play Keats, i die. i die. i die.
I don't think i've gotten any of the bosses or even mini bosses on my first try. I keep getting killed.
Maybe its because i just learned of the dodge button. But really, i suck at Keats. I love his playing style more. Its more fun, i think. But i really just keep dying. I know where to go and who to kill, but i fail at it.
Now that i think about it, i suck at every game i play except Guitar Hero. In Kingdom Hearts, it took me a million tries to defeat Riku 2. In KH2, i could never beat the final boss on my own (i'd call my friends over to beat the Riku playing part). In World of Warcraft, i've had a Night Elf for over a year now and she's still level 18. I think i'm good at Pokemon games, though. My lvl 80 Haunter seems to kick some serious butt. BUT someone stole my DS so i cant battle online anymore.
Am i just a really bad gamer?

Maybe you're not as good at RPGs? I suck at games like DDR and Guitar Hero. D:

Im good at turn based things, though. x.x I don't think its you necessarily sucking at RPGs. I used to play them a lot as a kid on my Super Nintendo (geez, I feel old, I even played games on the original Nintendo at my friends house) but then it broke and hadn't played them from age 11 to 17. I quickly got the hang of things and am still learning everyday new tricks. It also helped watching my friend who is like... the master of RPGs. XD In any case, I think its your strategy/tactics. In a lot of RPGs, there is button-mashing but also for some, a healthy dose of strategical thinking. like which monsters to use against certain monsters, or leveling up only certain attributes. Things like that. Other than Folklore I recommend playing one of the Final Fantasy games (Kingdom Hearts doesn't count, lol it's mostly button mashing and not a lot of strategy behind it (though yes, Riku II was hard..)). Or games similar to Final Fantasy. They help you with tips and learning new strategies. ...wow, I didn't realize I had gone overboard with this... sorry! But I hope it helps!

you absolutely do not suck at games.
absolutely not.
no no no.
I found Ellen was easier to play as, but liked running around as Keats more. LOTS OF FUN TRANSFORMING INTO THE HULK-BUT-RIDICULOUS.
Riku 2 in KH... why would you ever bring him up?
it took me like two weeks to kick his early-grey-haired face off.
like manders said, have you ever played final fantasy? it's really strategic and stuff and in dept and crazy fun.
