the more I think that the reason Keats was so cold to Ellen during the ending was because he's trying, in his roundabout Keats-y way to get her to finally let go of her past. And here I thought Keats was just being stubborn. XD Actually, I think that's really legitimate - acting as Ellen's 'guardian' and helping her move on, for her own well-being. Hm. I wish I could play the game again to refresh my memory :C

Well, if a replay isn't an option at the moment, there's always the game script: www.neoseeker.com/Games/vfaqs/2-game-script/It's not 100% complete (the first couple of Keats chapters are missing, and there's no quest text IIRC) but it does have most of the script there. *thumbs up* And the ending is on youtube... Why, no, I did not go frantically looking all over the internet for Folklore-related ANYTHING in the three or so months between having learned of the game and having actually played it. Nor did I do the same upon beating the game itself. Never. >.> That all being said, Keats very well could have just been being stubborn. But my theory meshes well with my desire to write Keats and Ellen fluff. *cough* In-character fluff, of course.

Hmm... that's true... but I can see Keats going along with her to a point. But I guess at one point he'd put his foot down and set her straight. Then I guess I can see her start to cry and him feeling really bad...
hm... sounds like a fanfic to me.

Today in Gothic Literature (yes, it is an awesome class) we were talking about fairy tales and my teacher used the phrase "scholars of folklore" and my brain just went FOLKLORE WHUT WHERE. I am so terrible. XD But I guess at one point he'd put his foot down and set her straight. Then I guess I can see her start to cry and him feeling really bad... O: That totally happens, in the story I have in my head. This almost makes me want to write a fanfic instead of papers. With fluuuuuufffff. Fluffy fluff. *headdesk*

Oh jeez, I know; any time I hear the word "folklore" now in any context my brain immediately jumps to the game, haha.
I wish I had all my pagan books here at school with me... I have this random plotbunny involving Ellen and Keats and Beltane (the pagan holiday on the opposite end of the Wheel of the Year from Samhain) but it's been years since I did any research into that stuff (I went through a phase back in high school where I tried out a bunch of new-age religions), and I don't want to write it with all kinds of inaccuracies because I'm anal retentive. XD;

Pagan books? Those sound awesome O: Dayuuum, maybe if I went to the school pagan club I could learn something interesting...I remember looking up names of the Folk from the game online, and some were named after Celtic myths but didn't really have to do with the Folk itself.
FUN FACT: Doolin is a real town. It's quite cute. However, there is no Cliff of Sidhe BUT Doolin lies next to the Cliffs of Moher, which can be recognized by those who have seen The Princess Bride as "The Cliffs...OF INSANITY!" XD

Maybe I scared them away... there was a decent amount of "hey, welcome" stuff going on when I first signed up but the more I post the more people seem to disappear... do I have a forum-killing disease, maybe? D:

I'm around... somewhat. I just got a job the other day (woo! moneys!) and I start on the 29th. So yeah, that pesky real life seems to cut down on fun computer time. It's kind of sad that the mods seemed to have left the forum...
I think it'd be fun for more activity here. My RPG forum and other game dev forum doesn't have the same folklore feel to it... nor do they even know what the game is...

I wish this game was a little more popular so this forum wouldn't feel like a (virtual) ghost town. I mean, it's great that Folklore doesn't have a huge, obnoxious fandom, but this is a bit TOO obscure. ;__;
More activity would give me an excuse to not do homework, too. XD

Maybe we should start up an RPG or something in the general talk section... or um... something. I emailed fanfiction.net to request a folklore category... but I didn't get a response or reaction and it still isn't there.

Sadly, fanfiction and theorizing is about as far as my fandom tendencies go. I am a horrible role-player, haha. I fully support the idea of an RPG but I can't say that I'd be a player in it. >.>;
As I've said multiple times on here before, I am all for Folklore fanworks contests, but the amount of participation probably would be, like... 1-3 people. XD; Which isn't much of a contest.
I have to wonder whether stuff like that would do better on the LJ, though. That way it pops up on people's friends lists... either that or we could try to send, like, a mass email to people on here if they have their emails public in their profiles... @__@ Be like, "Hey, we're alive! Come be alive with us!"
